Michelle Lew is responsible for campus wide programs and services that use technology to enhance student learning. As Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies, Michelle has overall responsibility for UCLA’s Learning Management Infrastructure, known as CCLE. This learning ecosystem consists of a learning management system as well as integrated cloud based tools which provide functions such as video office hours, originality checking, video streaming and virtual proctoring to name just a few. The system typically hosts over 3,000 courses per quarter and provides support for nearly every traditional, blended and online course offered on campus.
Michelle is also responsible for CAT’s Instructional Media Collection, its Instructional Media Production group, and BruinCast lecture capture service. These media related services provide faculty with both physical access and streamed access to over 10,000 documentary, feature film, and television titles which have been acquired specifically for use in classroom instruction as well as professional video production and editing services for on location or in-studio recording for online and blended courses and lecture capture services for large undergraduate courses.
Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and she earned her MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business.
