COVID-19 Update 3/19/2020 11am
Please note that because Powell library is closed until further notice, we are unable to circulate any media to instructors, faculty or researchers until the library reopens. We also cannot acquire new films for our collection because mail delivery has been halted for our offices for the duration of the closure.

Some other options to view films for free that are available include:

  • Kanopy - a campus service free to UCLA students and faculty via UCLA VPN)
  • The Los Angeles Public Library also has Kanopy. This is a slightly different curated collection with different films, and is free with an LAPL library card

Finally, a useful search tool to find where a film might be available for streaming or rental here:

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult period. Please feel free to contact [email protected] for more information and guidance.

The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) is the central resource for the collection and maintenance of instructional media.

The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) primarily serves faculty and departmental personnel who use media in the classroom. The IMCS houses and maintains several department and study center collections and features an ever growing collection of DVDs, videotapes, laserdiscs and films.
